still a pretty engine, although there are too many people who insist and declare that 4449 is the 'best engine in the world'

There are too many great locomotives to decide the best. Clearly they have never read The Great Book Of Trains by Brian Hollingsworth.

Anyone from any country can make such claims based on little or no authoritative resources. I myself like many steam engines from a host of countries including America, Britain, India, Japan, Malaysia, Australia, and pretty much all of the other nations that ever had their own original steam locomotives.

exactly. I prefer Queensland locomotives mostly because that is what i grew up with though so I am more than a bit bias XD

Since I scarcely see real steam locomotives I simply like to use encyclopedias that document railways and locomotives from around the entire world.
"There isn't a train I wouldn't take no matter where it's going."
